SIAG produces steel components for the offshore-technology on an area of 550.000 sqm and with a hall space of 75.000 sqm: offshore wind energy towers, main frames, jackets, tripods, monopiles, transition pieces as well as substation platforms. Herewith SIAG Nordseewerke GmbH is the biggest offshore – production site for steel components.
ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) will remain tied to the Emden location: TKMS Blohm + Voss Nordseewerke will retain their shipbuilding expertise in the naval surface vessel and submarine engineering sectors as well as in the repair and outfitting sector at the Emden location.
In the course of the year 2010, it is intended

Change of ownership of the Emden site completed
Dernbach, March 8th 2010 – SIAG Schaaf Industrie AG, leading supplier for the power generating industry with headquarters in Dernbach, takes over Nordseewerke in Emden on March 8th 2010. After signing the contract October 23rd 2009 the change of ownership of the Emden site is completed as of today. SIAGSIAG produces steel components for the offshore-technology on an area of 550.000 sqm and with a hall space of 75.000 sqm: offshore wind energy towers, main frames, jackets, tripods, monopiles, transition pieces as well as substation platforms. ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) will remain tied to the Emden location: TKMS Blohm + Voss Nordseewerke will retain their shipbuilding expertise in the naval surface vessel and submarine engineering sectors as well as in the repair and outfitting sector at the Emden location.
In the course of the year 2010, it is intended
- to combine the naval surface ship engineering sector in Emden with the activities at the Hamburg location in a single company and to continue the activities at both locations,
- to separate the submarine engineering section in Emden to become a branch of Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft in Kiel and
- to continue the repair and outfitting activities in Emden under the name „Emder Werft und Dockbetriebe“ as part of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems.
