Globalization, our core strategy

Global growth is a major challenge for our customers. New markets are being developed, the offshore wind power technology market being just one segment. For this field, annual growth rates of more than 20% are projected.
While European markets are seeing slower growth and repowering, or retrofitting low-performance plants with high-performance generators, is gaining importance, international growth rates are above average. German exports account for some 75% of total sales.
However, the European market is still important. Last year, the Government's objectives for renewable energy market share were surpassed.
It's time to get involved! Many German firms, including the SIAG Group, achieve much of their growth in the world market. Availability of components, material costs, and human resources are the major challenges encountered by wind power and power generation plant engineering players pursuing global growth. Foreign projects will only be successful by focusing on core products. This is why SIAG is committed to high quality, delivery reliability, and adequate production capacity.
Particularly on an international scale, the SIAG Group was able to maintain and even surpass high quality standards without compromising its cost position in comparison to competitors. Against this background, our future development will be based on an increased export share, serving offshore wind power plants and making a strong contribution to the repowering market.
In addition, we are committed to forging strategic alliances with our customers, in order to produce locally in global growth markets and cut transport costs. That being said, we are currently setting up new production sites.
In Egypt, construction of our largest tube tower plant has commenced. SIAG entered the North American market in August 2009 when it took over SIAG Aerisyn LLC in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The take-over of Nordseewerke in Emden extends SIAG Group to include Europe's largest offshore component plant. As a result, the number of employees in the Group has almost doubled in a very short time and it is fully tuned in to the future offshore technology market.
We also intend to internationalise our machine and generator support business. Because these are very complex, mechanically processed welded steel structures with a unit weight up to 64 tons, it is appropriate to look abroad.
Our international team will ensure that potential cultural differences are considered so as to guarantee a smooth integration during the implementation phase.
